Recommended Games (Large Post)

Post by TheOrangeDart on Thu Jun 16, 2011 4:05 am

Ever been sitting on your ass playing a game you've beat and mastered and thought, "I wish I knew of other fun games..."

If not, then leave this post haha.

This is my top 17. I only thought of 17 because these are the only games I could think off the top of my head.
I'm bored out of my mind...
Here we go!

Spoiler:
Number 17
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (2001) Playstation2

This was the first sneaking game I ever played, and the first Metal Gear game I played. At first I hated this game, but I quickly learned to love it and cannot find very much negative things to say about it.
PROS:
-Tight controls
-Awesome story
-Very good character development
CONS:
-Can get hard to the point where it feels unfair

Number 16
Earthbound (1995) Super Nintendo

When I first heard of this game I thought, "Oh, great. ANOTHER lame looking role-playing game..." I tried it, and kept playing, and playing, and eventually beat it my first time playing it. I love it! It's probably my favorite role-playing game... and I normally hate role-playing games.
PROS:
-Totally different from the typical role-playing game
-Very laid back style
-Tons of areas to explore
CONS:
-About half-way through, it gets extremely difficult
-Fighting scenes are kinda boring

Number 15
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (2004) Nintendo GameCube

Another role-playing game, but its Mario in a weird looking flat world. Super addictive and you'll find yourself playing for hours at a time. I always find myself "craving" this game at least once a year.
PROS:
-Very addictive
-Super memorable
-Unique graphic style
-Very good story
CONS:
-Zero replay value. Nothing at all to do after you beat it and it makes your completed game insanely boring.
-There is a fight arena you can do after you beat the game, but its just a re-do of a level you already beat doing the story mode.

Number 14
No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle (2010) Nintendo Wii

My favorite Wii game! HELL YES! I don't really know how to describe this game, besides awesome. Chopping people up with lightsabers has never been so satisfying.
PROS:
-Controls are tight
-Bosses are awesomely fun to fight
-Good story
CONS:
-Some bosses get really cheap towards the end of their life

Number 13
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (2004) Playstation2

I didn't think the Grad Theft Auto series could get better than Vice City. San Andreas rapes Vice City repetitively. The only game that makes me feel "gangsta"! Best way to describe this game: BAD ASS!!!
PROS:
-Awesome story
-Car controls are perfect
-Character customization is huge
CONS:
-Can be glitchy
-Some missions are poorly explained

Number 12
Resident Evil 4 (2005) Nintendo GameCube

I hate the earlier Resident Evil games because of that horrible "tank" controls. But Resident Evil 4 tried the "behind the back" camera and it works amazingly. Considered game of the year for 2005, its unrealistically awesome.
PROS:
-100% perfect controls
-Awesome bosses
-Creative story
CONS:
-Not scary, like the older Resident Evil games
-Your health drops like a rock

Number 11
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (2000) Nintendo 64

I ask myself very often, "Why isn't there another Kirby like this?!!" This Kirby game is the best Kirby game ever made ever in the history of anything ever. You can combine 2 powers to make a super power! Instead of only having 1 power...
PROS:
-Brilliant power combo system
-Excellent gameplay
-Beautiful level design
-Music matches every level perfectly
CONS:
-It's a beginners game. Very easy

Number 10
Mega Man 64 (1998) Nintendo 64

A game I believe that is totally under-rated. Once you get familiar with the controls, it becomes insanely addictive. I can't believe the low ratings this game gets. I'll admit, though, you have to give it a chance. A big chance. You will NOT like this game the first few times you play it. Give it a chance though! It's worth it!
PROS:
-Controls are extreme once mastered
-Unique graphic style
-Story moves quickly, but not too quick
-Fun replay value
CONS:
-Very short
-Graphics can glitch, causing the walls and floor to look funny

Number 9
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (2002) Nintendo GameCube

My favorite Sonic game. The story is awesome. The controls are awesome. The levels are awesome. This game is over-all awesome! And it has excellent replay value. The chao garden is insanely addictive.
PROS:
-Chao garden is the key part of the game that most people love
-Controls are fun and fast
-Story is epic
CONS:
-Mini-games suck
-Your player can sometimes get stuck against walls which can make you go from like 100mph to immediate stop...

Number 8
Super Smash Brothers: Melee (2001) Nintendo GameCube

This game blows my mind! I don't even know how to explain the awesome that is this game! F IT! Straight to the pros and cons!
PROS:
-Gameplay and controls are perfect
-Playing with friends is the best part
-Graphics are beyond its time
-Very informative to the history of some older games
CONS:
-Honestly, I can't think of any... A PERFECT GAME

Number 7
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! (2003) Nintendo GameCube

This game is super fun with friends. Probably the best multiplayer game I've played. Levels are awesome and fun to look at. Music makes you want to race and gets you pumped. Super fun!
PROS:
-Multiplayer is awesome
-Game is easy on the eyes
CONS:
-For a racing game, it seems slow

Number 6
Mario Kart 64 (1997) Nintendo 64

The only reason its better than Double Dash, is because its single-player mode is a little bit more fun. Very very fun multiplayer!
PROS:
-Single-player is very fun
-Multiplayer is very fun as well
CONS:
-Can make you so angry so fast. There are way too many reasons to list here.

Number 5
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (1997) Playstation

Holy hot-damn, this game is amazing. Don't you dare talk bad about this game until you've tried it. It wasn't popular when it first came out. As it aged, it got insanely popular and began showing up on top 100's then top 50's and worked all the way up to top 20's even some top 10's on game sites.
PROS:
-Super addictive
-Graphics distract and stun you, they are so ahead of their time
-Many many items to collect
CONS:
-There's no direction. You have to walk around aimlessly until you happen to find where to be.

Number 4
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (2006) Nintendo GameCube

I like this game WAY more than Ocarina of Time. Ocarina of Time is supposedly the greatest game ever made. But my opinion says Twilight Princess is more fun. More creative items, mini-games are actually fun, and the game's levels mesmerize you.
PROS:
-Super tight gameplay
-Awesome story
-Very fun fight controls
CONS:
-The wolf parts are horrible...
-The lighting in the game is just hard to look at sometimes

Number 3
Minecraft (2009) PC

This game is the most addictive game I've ever played in my life. It's still in development. So how it will hold up in the future, I cannot say. But right now, it's AWESOME! Incredibly brilliant.
PROS:
-Super extremely addictive
-Unique gameplay
CONS:
-Very glitchy
-Can freeze and close without warning for no reason

Number 2
Super Metroid (1994) Super Nintendo

My all time #2 favorite game ever! Obviously... But I can pick this game up anytime and have a blast. The controls are just... so, so perfect. So damn awesome. Blows me away.
PROS:
-The controls... They're so friggn' perfect! PERFECT! FU*KIN PERFECT!!!!!
-Revolutionary
CONS:
-Can be confusing as to where to go next
-Absolutely no replay value

Number 1
Super Mario 64 (1996) Nintendo 64

My favorite game EVERRRRRR! You can do so many stunts and tricks and flips and... YEAH! I can pick this up any time and play for hours! Levels are spectacular. 3D platforming perfected. And my childhood!
PROS:
-Revolutionary
-Level designs are very fun to run around
-Controls are super tight
-So many stunts to do
CONS:
-No real replay value. You just replay it over and over again

If you actually read the whole thing, I love you! Not love-love, but... never mind, lets just say I appreciate it! Took me a very long time to make!
I'd love to hear about you're opinions.

I love you Thank you for reading! I love you

And please, give these games a try!

Super Smash Bros. Melee was the greatest Game Cube game ever. I wanted to destroy the world when my mom sold my game cube... It was the only game I played on it.

I didn't let her! She took it the Game Stop or whatever when I was at my friend's house! She said she did it because "I never used it" When I was actually on it the day before. I was all "Are you f*cking kidding me Are you kidding me?"

I actually played 16 of those games. (You already know which one I didn't play. Sad) I still kept them all for the memories and some times play them for certain parts that I really enjoyed! Oh yeah, Haxorus: Maybe a Wii might be a good idea if you want to play Melee again. Plus you can play No More Heroes on it too!

I'm thinking about saving my money and just buying a game cube again. I don't really care for the Wii.
