Electromagnetic Weapons

Indeed the future of weapons technology, and i was wondering if any other tech geek out there who knows about electromagnetic weaponry could send me blue prints or plans on a small railgun, coilgun/gauss gun, or an effective EMP generator. Also I know both need a capacitor bank to hold enough of a charge so plans on a bank would be much appreciated too.

You kidding, right? To power even a small railgun, you'd need TONS if power. And EMPs are probably illegal. But if you get one up and running, take a vid or something, post it here.

To make a railgun you need the capcitors, a ton of electromagnets, a computer program to power the magnets in sequence, the actual structure of the weapon and a suitable projectile, you can make or get most of that, the computer bit is the problem, it's not the sort of thing just lying around. But the covenant probaly have contacts that can get MAC cannon specs right? So it shouldn't be a problem for you to make a railgun

Kitty you have your priorities strait. And achy, i think you are thinking of a coilgun. which is what a MAC gun is. Yes all coils must be set by a computer if you make one with more than one coil. Capacitors arn't a problem. The railgun would be for presentaition purposes. It wouldnt actually fire a projectile 8 times the speed of sound. it just needs to shoot something like 5-10 feet. And yes i have the schematics for a UNSC MAC gun but its just to damn big to fit in my room.

oh yeah i was thinking of a coilgun, there fore i have a new list:

1. two rails
2. two wires
3. a projectile

the only problem is making the rails precise enough to work, ah new plan, use a non magnetic material for a base, then put two bars of iron or steel either side, with the projectile in between, have two wires coming off the projectile touching the sides so there connected, then attach the bars to a power supply, im not sure mains will be enough and i havent got any other ideas except for a capacitor. im not sure you'll get 5 feet, but it'll move
