Schools outfits, gum, etc.

So now that it's summer for many of us, you guys are starting to probbly chew gum, wear outfits that wouldn't be called appropriate for school, etc. So it got me to thinking, shouldn't these be allowed in school? Do you guys think hats, gum, short shorts, tanktops, and short skirts should be allowed in school? I think they should be! What about you guys?

I wish that stuff was allowed, then they would allow most casual clothes too...my school uniform fails x_x

loluniforms. anyway, i wear the same stuff i do at school (athletic shorts, t-shirts) and i chew gum all the time. even though i ain't supposed to. ;D

noooo, I said I wear the same stuff out of school that i do in school. Like t-shirts and athletic shorts. we're allowed to wear that stuff.

You're going to hate me for saying this, but I think it's a privilege that we get to be educated the way we are, while other countries are struggling with things like famine. Petty annoyances like rules don't bother me much.

when i was at school we had uniforms and we liked them (also it cuts down on bullying even a kid with parents on mimimum wage can afford the average uniform)

We are alowed gum at my school and we don't have uniforms. You can't wear a hat though, I don't understand why.

Hats-Don't find a problem with them and should be accepted as optional clothing (Unless of course it has innapropriate things on it.)

Gum-Used to be allowed untill some idiots screwed it up by putting gum under their desks...

Short/Tight clothing-Too much sex appeal and distracts the whole classroom. (Just imagine the hottest girl/boy in your class doing that, what would you stare at? The chalk board or her/him?)

Uniforms-This gets a lot of question because schools have different ideas of their "perfect" uniform system. But the main thing is that everyone is the same by appearence and that gets the good and bad side on it. Good is that the chances for bullying are less because it's sometimes hard to find something to make fun of them. Bad is that it becomes dull seeing everyone the same way throughout the entire school year.

(Extra)Electronic eqiupment like IPods-This confuses me when every book I see in school has this right on the first page where it tells you that you can download this book onto your IPod and listen to your book. Of course the majority of students just use it to listen to music, but if it has that option, why just think that a student is playing music and confiscate it when you can check and see that what they're listening to has to do with subject they're learning?

Personal opionion- I agree with Blue on this one. Rules don't bother me unless they're completely ridiculous and end up causing more problems then they should be solving.

We aren't allowed iPods at our school. People bring them anyway. Some teachers let us listen to them in lessons.

We fought the teachers to allow us to use ipods at break and won. The short shorts and tops, sorry, but nobody here gives a crap about them. They are as bad as skinny jeans that work into hot chicks cracks and we see so many boobs cus of low shirts. It dosen't get any guys to stare twice. It dosen't matter anymore to us. We aren't even allowed to hug each other *sigh*. It dosen't matter, no guy stares. They don't even stare at this one girl who "loves" her desk in math class.

There's no rules like this in Norway. We can wear whatever, hats, short skirts, shorts, hats. You can go to school in a bikini if you'd like. We can chew gum. We can hug each other.

Someone even played with fireworks right outside the school once, and instead of getting mad, the teachers joined us and had fun. It was so awesome, although I think this shouldn't be allowed. Someone could easily get hurt. o.o

I dont think gm should be allowed cause i hate gum, i think we should be allowed to wear what we like, all this stuff about reducing bullying is total bullshit, congrats ypu eliminated one area off bullying, now work on the other 999
