Movie Review- The girl most likely to- 1973
Warning this may contain spoilers.
Okay so this movie basically begins with our main character, poor, ugly, unwanted, Miriam Knight played by Stockard Channing. She is new to college and attempting to fit in. However everyone judges her by her body and nobody actually tries to get to know her. So do the shallow kids just turn there backs and ignore her? Of course not! Everyone is a plotter. Hmmmm... How do we bring Miriam closer to suicide? Oh I know how about we have a handsome nerd make out with her and tell her he love's her while an audience unknown to Miriam watches then we'll have the audience revealed at the moment which would be most embarrassing to her. No here's a better idea... lets have a total jerk ask Miriam for some drinks and run out on her with his buddies before she comes back. Here's a great idea, *insert situation which ends with Miriam tricked and makes real people feel bad here*. Okay so eventually she drives off because she never wants to be seen again. Boom! Car crash! Now she's in the hospital with bandages covering her from head to toe. Bandages come off and she's beautiful, at least to everyone in the whole movie. No she's not just beautiful, she's drop dead gorgeous! Every guy that comes into her way is attracted to her. I think you know where this is going. Revenge. She kills everyone who was mean to her in "clever" ways. At the end she marries a police man who loves her for her "brilliant" mind.
This is unsurprisingly a very unpopular movie, sadly I almost hope it stays that way. At the beginning, Miriam's character is practically begging PLEASE PLEASE FEEL BAD FOR ME! Well why didn't I feel bad for a fat genius who is verbally abused and has always been verbally abused her whole life? Because everything is too Darn exaggerated! That's why! Not one person likes or accepts her even a little bit. It was too perfect. The shallow kids might as well of been yelling "Please kill yourself you fat ugly monster!". Now to the bandages covering her from head to toe, if there was ever a more predictable scene in the entire history of cinema please tell me! Of course she's going to be beautiful when the bandages come off, of course she's not going to let things go, of course this is going to be a revenge movie! As for the acting, the main character is just okay, "just". But I can honestly say that there was not one good supporting actor. The theme in this movie is very clear, that's another thing that I don't like. Accept people for who they are...Okay.. I get it already. What surprises me is that the majority of people who reviewed it gave it positive feedback. I know that this movie tries to use dark humor, but the majority of it just falls flat, it doesn't offend me.. it's just... dull. People are struggling to bury a casket... funny. I give this movie 2 out of 5 's. It was an okay idea, awful/predictable plot, terrible execution.
Alterternately if you are looking for a dark comedy about shallow girls being awful to one person. May I suggest Heathers (1988). A way less predictable movie with great humor. It will actually makes you think.

I've never seen it but it looks really good. I like good movies, but once in a while I do love to watch cheesy, exagerated movies! Cheesy and exagerated in drama is always kinda funny for me sometimes! Ima gunna look into it! Thanks!
